The Power of Pink

Hi everyone!

My fourth of July weekend was more bust than boom, so I was kind of in a glass half full, woe is me funk this morning as I was out doing errands.

On my way to the dairy aisle at Wal-Mart, I "had" to pass by the bed and bath department and some cheery hot pink towels caught my eye and made their way into my cart.

I also found a pretty pink flower, a hot pink candle, some raspberry pink gum and even a magazine with a pink cover! Seemed like everything in my cart was a happy shade of pink!

Now, hot pink is really not a color I have any where in my house (other than the petunias on my patio!), but lucky for me, this color works well with gray and navy - the color of our guest bath.

I foraged around for a few other pink things, put the green accents I usually use in this room in storage and presto changeo - a summery vibe in our guest bath!

A sweet, carved angel spreads calm over the chaos of life...

The pink candle adds a sweet fragrance.

Love the open storage in this room. The silk pulled back curtain adds some softness to a room with so many hard edges.

So on a day where I needed a little boost, a few hot pink accessories were a definite mood lifter!

Thanks for stopping by,
Jane

  2. What a great idea! Pink is a cheerful color and I like how you popped it in the bathroom! That Rose is perfection! Our 4th was okay- a bit too quiet since it was just the two of us.

  3. What a super duper Walmart shopping day you had. Love all your hot pink finds. It does look really sweet with your navy and gray too. Don't you love it when you find so many things all in one trip that go together so nicely.
Have a great day my friend.

  7. I love the pink that you added to your room. It's such a beautiful color and it does go well with your navy. I'm trying to figure out how to add it to parts of our house too. ;)

  9. Jane, you are right about the power of pink. I love it and find it makes me happy. When Tami was diagnosed with breast cancer, everything sort of became pink and it just has stayed with me not only in my decorating but in what I wear..Happy Pink Summer..Judy

  10. I love the color combinations of pink, grey, and blue! Your bathroom looks cheerful and happy! I especially like the angel with her hands folded in prayer. Our 4th was very quiet. My hubby is the proud owner of a new knee so we couldn't do what we usually do on the 4th. It was just me and Mr. New Knee!
