Slow Start (But Here I Go!)

Hi everyone,

Hope your week is off to a good start!  I am hoping to tackle a little project that I have had in the works since January....yep, January!  I need to make some changes to our master bedroom and I have put off doing so because I would like to paint the walls.  However, it's been a weird and crazy year, and for many reasons, I simply am unable to get that piece of the project done.  Boo!

But.....................I surveyed the situation the other day, and the supplies that I have gathered to transform my room actually look ok with the current wall color.  So, instead of feeling annoyed with our bedroom and it's current state, I am going to move forward and do a little re-do sans paint!

Our master currently looks dark, drab, and just not the cozy space I was hoping for.  You can see for yourself here.  The bedding is very pretty, but it is just soooo heavy and overpowering.  Especially for the summer months.  At Christmas time, I picked up a white matelasse coverlet and also some pretty Chalet linens from Pottery Barn on clearance.  I shared that with you here. I also have a Pottery Barn Martine toile coverlet and shams that I am going to work into the mix.

So finally, after much procrastination, I am starting tomorrow to stitch up (well, fusible web!) some drapery panels and taking those first steps towards changing our room to a new vibe. Hope to share those with you in a day or two.  Fingers crossed!

Many projects, so little time! What are you working on these days?

Thanks for stopping by,
Jane

  1. I love what I see already and the Matine pieces are wonderful too! I bet when it's all said and done you'll never worry about that paint.

  2. You've chosen some pretty linens and I'm sure your room will look gorgeous when it's done. I scrolled through your last post and your lawn and gardens are gorgeous!!! I wish mine looked half that nice!

  5. I understand completely. Sometimes I have to twist my OWN arm to get things done. Today I wandered over and took a good look at Fairy Garden #2 and..well...I'm afraid I am going to let it just grow wild.
My room was like yours, drab, but thankfully we decided to spring for having the painting done so we didn't have to do it. It was worth it. But before it was painted I had done the same thing you have. Spruced it up with accessories..new spread etc.
Windows are always my problem. Lace fits the bill most of the time so I stick to it. Boring but easy.
I can't wait to see the finished product! :)
Thank you for stopping by my blog. :) It's not too remarkable..but I do have fun with it. A lot of fun..and..I meet the sweetest people. I hope your 4th is wonderful and safe!

  6. Hi Jane,
I love the colors you have chosen - when we have changes in mind it's daunting trying to get them underway - that is the one room in our home that is in sorry need of a remake but it's small and it will take a heap of big men to move the furniture so it can be done so guess what - it probably will stay as is.
Be anxious to see your transformation!!!
Have a wonderful 4th of July
