Easter & Time for Spring Break

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a blessed Easter weekend. Mr. Bluebird, Sweet Daughter, and I went to early mass (7 a.m.!). We had an Easter gathering at our house with a few members of our extended family - very relaxing and fun.  We also got to meet our newest great-niece (but then again, all of our nieces are "great" lol) - six week old Jocelyn.  So sweet!

Here's a peek at our Easter feast:

Our menu consisted of honey baked ham (oh yum!), cheesy potatoes,  fruit salad in mason jars, cupcakes....

Carrots & dip in mini bread bowls, mozarella 'pearls' with grape tomatoes skewered with a spinach leaf, chicken salad puffs, deviled eggs, chocolate mousse shooters, and pink lemonade!  It was all delicious (if I say so myself).

Here's a cute snap of my daughter, my soon to be 88 year old (this Friday) mom, and one of my wonderful nieces.

A group shot of some of our guests - myself and Mr. Bluebird on the left. It still was a bit chilly yesterday, so sweaters were the attire of the day.  All in all, we had a lovely time!

I am on spring break for the next nine days, so I am looking forward to the time off.  Today I am working on spring cleaning, tomorrow is a much needed hair appointment, and later in the week we are headed to Branson, MO for a  little getaway.  Hope to get in some shopping while I am there and I also hope to make it to Olde Tyme Pottery near St. Louis. I have heard so much about those stores, but this is the closest one to my Wisconsin home.

Any suggestions on Branson shopping or dining?!

Have a great week!

Wishing you happiness,

Jane

  1. You look a lot like your Mom! I loved Branson. I've only been once, and don't remember where we ate. We went to a George Jones show while we were there, and it was part of a long trip out West that my hubby took me on when we were dating. I did like the little shops there too!

Hope you have a great time! Thanks for stopping by.

    1. Thanks Kathy! My mom is pretty cute, so I take that as a compliment lol! Branson has changed alot with the economy kind of tanking a few years ago and the tornado last year, but we really have liked it the last two years. I think we will take a break from it next spring and try some place new, but we will go back.

  2. Those are great family pictures! I bet you did have a nice Easter with all that good company and food. I've never been to Branson, MO but have heard good things about it. I hope you have a great time on vacation. My son is on Spring break from school too so it's been nice to sleep in every morning and not have to live by the clock every day.

    1. Spring break is terrific! I love that I still get one at my age lol! We usually stay home, but have ventured out the last two years to Branson, just the two of us, and had a blast. Glad you have enjoyed your spring break and I am in love with your new kitchen light!

  4. Hope you had a great little getaway to Branson. What did you think of Olde Time Pottery? I have been a couple of times. The first time I thought it was great fun; the second time I wasn't impressed!
