Hi everyone!
With June knocking on the door, I thought it would be fun to share with you a few things I love to see, do or use in June.
First up, even though the warmer temperatures have arrived, I still love scented candles. I don't burn too many indoors during the summer, but I do like to light them up in the evenings outdoors. There is something about the ambiance of the flickering candle flame that I just can't get enough of. I also like the scent of the candle blended with the fresh outdoor air. One of the candles that will be lighting up and scenting my back patio will be Summer Scoop by Yankee Candle...a yummy vanilla berry scent that is amazing!
Here in Wisconsin, mid to late June is strawberry time and I plan on enjoying copious amounts of them this year!
My summer playlist always includes a little old school Beach Boys...pretty much the quintessential soundtrack of summer. "We've been havin' fun all summer long....."
June also brings lots of outdoor festivals, fairs and parties, which also means strings and strings of these iconic bulb lights...these scream summer to me!
June is also tee shirt time and this year I am loving the elbow sleeve boat neck tee from Christopher and Banks. It is the perfect white tee and really, every woman needs a good white tee in their wardrobe.
Of course, June is prime sandals and flip flops weather and I bought this gadget a while back. It is the Silk N Pedi callous and dry skin remover. It runs on batteries and works like nobody's business! I know it will be getting a workout this summer and it was under $30 to boot.
Every summer I make sure to plant cheery zinnias - love their vibrant colors and they are very hardy and prolific growers.
This year in June I have many paint projects I will be working - first up, the entire main floor of our house.
I am also going to be reading this book written by my friend Diana who also writes over at her blog, Nana Diana Takes a Break. I've actually already started reading it and it's fabulous!
My greatest June love is time. One of the blessings of my job is having summers off. I am a few days away from starting my summer hiatus and there is something comforting and exciting in knowing for the next few months I have "time." Time for my friends. Time for my family. Time for me. I always feel very lucky this time of year! (My bank account does not feel lucky - without a paycheck coming in, but this is not a post about budgeting, lol!)
So, June is almost here and I am feeling ready. There are so many possibilities. What do you all have planned for June?
Thanks for stopping by,
Jane

Hi Jane,
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to believe June is almost here. I am a summer girl and love the months ahead. I have read Diana's book and loved it. I am doing a post on it today on my blog. It is a great summer read. Have a great start to the new week ahead.
Kris
Hi Jane, As a fellow Wisconsinite, I can't resist following this blog! (GFC). I've got to check out Diana's book too. She is such a fun blogging pal. Love Yankee Candles and am burning a peach one right now, but need to check out the Summer Scoop.
ReplyDeleteJune is strawberry month here too and this year I have to pick and pick to replenish my jam supply! I love when my Orange Blossom tree blooms in June and by now I finally have my porches decorated and the yard in shape. Now we can just coast through the summer and enjoy. Gonna look into that Silk n Pedi!
ReplyDeleteWonderful post about the coziness of an unhurried summer. Lots of chores. Lots of laziness. Lots of life.
