Here Comes Peter Cottontail

 Hi everyone!

Just wanted to share my cute kitchen table for Easter with you. I fell in love with this dapper fellow from Kirklands, but not the price tag. I can't tell you how many times I've looked at him in store and online the past few months, and found myself unwilling to pay full price. I  couldn't buy him fast enough when I found him marked down to $22.49 today!

Just look at his sweet face...

This cottontailed boy is huge and really makes a statement! Love that he is fairly neutral, without any pink or purple. He should be part of my Easter decor for years to come.

First Bits of Spring

Hi everyone!

I thought I would snap some pictures of my spring decor before it is time to decorate for Thanksgiving! Okay, I'm exaggerating, but if I wait for perfect pics, editing and all that jazz - I might be posting in November, lol. Just a glimpse of our living room.

So, here is a little Bluebird spring raw and uncensored.

Cozy Kitchen Tablescape

Hi everyone!

Today was a pretty gloomy day around here weather-wise, so it was nice to cozy things up around the house.

A week or two ago I picked up a vintage brick mold from Decor Steals. It stayed in s corner of our den for awhile, because I just wasn't sure what to do with it.

Well, inspiration finally struck and now it graces my kitchen table, filled with flameless candles, scented rose hips, berries and some evergreen cuttings & pine cones from my yard. Simple and simply perfect for this time of year.

I think the rustic wood & metal of these piece are perfect textures for this time of year. Now that all the glitz & glam of Christmas is over, natural elements are a welcoming touch. Did you notice the not-so-tiny photobomber?

Monday here we come! Have a great week.

Quick Change-Up

Hi everyone!

This is probably the teensy-tiniest of posts, but I wanted to show you my quick Christmas to Valentine's change-up for the wreath on my front door. I wasn't ready to say goodbye to my wintery wreath, but it was looking tired now that Christmas is nearly a month behind us. (Say what?!)

A simple, metal heart arranged in the middle of the wreath and presto change-o, the transition was complete! Not rocket science, but cute.

Baby, It's Warm Inside

Hi everyone!

We are bracing for our first real snowstorm of the winter here in southeast Wisconsin.  It's been a cold, but sunny morning so far. However, later tonight and tomorrow there is a prediction of 4 to 5 inches of snow. That's not much for our neck of the woods, but it will mean a messy commute in the morning and a date with the shovel after work!

Since winter has settled in for a bit, I thought I would share some cold weather looks around the house. Get cozy you all!

I'll be waiting out the storm with a steamy cup, toasty fire and a big dog, lol. Wishing you a warm and cozy week.

Comeback Preview

Hi everyone!

Anybody still out there?

It's been a long time since my last post and my last promise to resurrect my humble, little blog. This time, at long last, I am feeling confident I am ready to hop back into the blogging world - visiting y'all and posting myself.

Today, just a few pictures to share - a few Christmas and a few peeks of projects that have happened around here. I'll be back in a few days with a "real" post. I'm the meantime, I hope you are staying warm & cozy during this country wide cold snap!

Thanks for stopping by - be back soon! pinky swear!

Summer Blooms & Preview

Hi everyone!

When it came to garden flowers this year, I decided to go for riotous colors rather than an actual color scheme. I'm loving all of the vibrant blooms!

And now for the preview!

In 2013, we tore out our existing patio and had brick pavers installed as well as a pavilion. You can read about that here.
This year we decided to expand the area and are thrilled with the results which I will share soon. The picture below is of the work in progress.
