Easter Happy Hour Mason Jar

Hi everyone!

I know, I know...there aren't many Mason jar ideas that haven't been done over the past few years.  I am (dare I say it?) maybe even getting to the saturation point with Mason jars.  But then, something comes along that still is so stinkin' cute.

This Easter season, I have seen a lot of Mason jars filled with Easter grass, candy and chocolate bunnies.  Oooh!  I love them.  But here is the thing:  I found out about this very sweet idea after all of the kiddo gifts had been purchased and sent off.  What to do? What to do?

Mr. Bluebird and I are blessed with some pretty amazing adult kiddos in our lives and we will be spending Easter with them this year.  So, why not amp up this Easter Mason jar idea and do it adult style? For about $4.00 each, they are a super fun and affordable gift (I will share the deets at the end of this post). Let me preface this with the fact that I am not going to bore you with how I assembled the jars.  It is pretty much crafting 101.  With that being said, let me share with you some pictures!

Aren't they cute? Of course, you can do a non-alcohol version and put just about any old thing in them.  But how fun!

The details:

1 quart Mason jar    1.50
Clothespin Clip         .25
Liquor                     1.45
Easter grass               .22
Candy                        .50
                                 3.92

I had the raffia and the fabric in my stash.

Anyway, a little Easter fun for some of my very favorite people in all of the world!

Thanks for stopping by,
Jane

Another Wal-Mart Find: PB Knockoff

Last week, I shared with you my cute Wal-Mart steal - this $2.97 vintage looking Easter picture:

(You can read the entire post here.)

I also came across a very Pottery Barn-esque egg cup, also for $2.97.  Simple, but detailed at the same time.

Isn't he cute? I love that he is a solid color.  After I got home, I decided one wasn't enough, but when I went back to my local Wal-Mart a few days later they were long gone! I have been to five other area Wal-Marts and their bunnies have hopped off also.  Drat!

Here he is in a little breakfast table setting, looking all  kinds of cute! They had these bunnies in the yellow see here, plus  pink, blue, and white.

Pottery Barn has cute Easter egg cups in their catalog right now and they actually are very inexpensive too.  At $8.50 each, they are still a great bargain! I think they are quite similar to my Wal-Mart knock off, although the egg cup is in the back rather than the front.

I can't say enough about this cute little bunny - for about $3.00 I just couldn't pass him up!

How about you? Any great finds in surprising places lately?

Thanks for stopping by,
Jane

I Fell in Love at Wal-Mart! (My Easter Steal)

Happy Saturday greetings to you all! I am "hopping" in with a cute, little Easter buy I picked up at Wal-Mart yesterday.  I had to run in to pick up some cat food and a few other necessities yesterday afternoon, and got sidetracked in their Easter aisle.

I saw this cute framed  print and fell in love! (Yes, I fell in love in Wal-Mart!) The picture makes the frame look shiny, but it has a flat, almost chalky finish.  Perfect for my downstairs powder room.  I didn't really need it, but when I took a look at the pricetag, I had to say, "oh, yes I DO need it!"

$2.97 - yep, you've read correctly - $2.97!!! Cheap-0-Rama!

Here it is hanging from the  rustic cabinet in the powder room.

Wal-Mart doesn't have much else in the Easter décor that appeals to me this year, but I was sure happy to find this little gem. I did pick up one other cute item there, but I am waiting to share because I am searching for 3 more, as they only had one at the WM I usually go to.  I will say it was verrrryyyy cute and rivaled PB who has a similar item in their catalog at a much high price.  Hope to score what I need (ok, want) soon!

Hope you all are having a terrific weekend - we have a little bit of snowstorm in the works right now, another 3 to 4 inches - as if we haven't had enough already! Oh well, let it snow - I've got some spring going on inside.

Thanks for stopping by,
Jane

A Little Bit of Easter

Hi Everyone! Just thought I'd share with you what I've been up to this weekend. Saturday we had my brother in law and his girlfriend over to celebrate his birthday.  I've started a little bit of spring decor also - keeping it simple this year.

I've got the table set for dinner withWalMart white plates, Debbie Mumm salad bowls, vintage gold stemware, and grainsack dishtowels from Marshalls.  (all things I had on hand).  My centerpiece is an ironstone pitcher from Marshalls, with a fern, those-been-around-blogland-for-years bunny picks from Pier One, and a little speckled egg.

Here is close up of the light fixture over our kitchen table.  Love this!!! For Easter I used two grass like garlands secured with burlap ties and then just a few eggs.   So cute (if I do say so myself)!

Aren't these bunnies just the most adorable little things? I never tire of them and I'm always sad when it's time to put them away for another year......

The birthday dinner menu included salad, lobster cakes, crab lasagna (yummmm!), garlic bread, and red velvet shooters with straweberries and  marshallow cream cheese topping for dessert.

I am leaving you with a picture of the snowman Mr. Bluebird made yesterday under the close supervision of Parker!  Sadly, it is raining today and our snowy friend does not quite have the shape it used to (just like me, lol!).  Have a great evening my friends!!

Wishing you happiness,

Jane

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!

I have been off on vacation for the past week and unfortunately did not stockpile any posts during that time! (Newbie, newbie, newbie!)

I plan on being back with a little something Sunday evening or early Monday morning.  In the meantime, I hope you all have a blessed Easter!

Wishing you happiness (and chocolate bunnies),
Jane
